Level 2 Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events

QUALIFICATION PURPOSE

This qualification is for candidates who are currently working or looking to work as: – Safety Stewards, Security Officers, Turnstile Operators, Response Stewards, and Event Assistants.

The qualification is mapped to the Skills Active Spectator Safety National Occupational Standards for underpinning knowledge, recommended as the minimum level qualification in the SGSA’s green guide for Safety and Sports Ground.  This qualification does not require a workplace/placement assessment.

This is the standard qualification for accessing frontline employment within events and crowd control including stadia, festivals, racecourses, arenas, shopping centres or anywhere involved with dealing with crowds.

What Will You Learn?

  • COURSE OVERVIEW
  • To achieve the qualification learners must achieve 5 Units:
  • Unit 1: Know how to Prepare for Spectator Events
  • Unit 2: Know how to assist with the movement of Spectators and Deal with crowd issues at events
  • Unit 3: Know how to Help to Manage & Resolve Conflict
  • Unit 4: Know how to Deal with Incidents at Spectator Events
  • Unit 5: Know how to Support the work of your team and Organisation
  • To complete the full qualification, you will also be required to undertake NACTSO’s ACT Awareness and ACT Security online modules through our e-learning platform.Underpinning Knowledge workshops can be delivered in the classroom or through our online platform, NewGen Learning. Your tutor/assessor will visit you in your place of work to undertake observation of practice and practical assessments around your normal working/placement patterns.
