The Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (RQF) is a nationally recognised, competence-based qualification designed for experienced care workers and senior practitioners in adult social care. It equips learners with the knowledge, values, and practical skills necessary to deliver high-quality, person-centred care and take on supervisory responsibilities across residential homes, domiciliary care, supported living, and clinical healthcare settings.


Aims & Objectives

  • Promote Professional Practice: Confirm advanced competence in communication, duty of care, safeguarding, personal development, and information handling.
  • Lead Person-Centred Care: Enable practitioners to implement and promote person-centred values, dignity, choice, and positive risk-taking.
  • Foster Supervisory Competence: Prepare senior care workers to guide colleagues, maintain regulatory compliance, and support individuals with complex care needs.

Course Requirements

  • Learners must be employed in or have access to an adult social care work environment to complete mandatory direct observations and practical assessments
  • Minimum age 18 recommended.

Course Outcomes

By completing this qualification, learners will be competent in:

  • Promoting Effective Communication & Information: Leading communication strategies, maintaining confidentiality, and handling data in care settings.
  • Safeguarding & Duty of Care: Implementing procedures to protect vulnerable adults from harm, abuse, and neglect while upholding duty of care standards.

  • Health & Safety Management: Promoting safe practices, infection prevention, and risk assessment within care environments.
